Your Guide to September in Prince Edward County

August was so much fun! Weddings, visitors from Belgium, a good old 80’s singalong at the Regent Theatre with Choir Choir Choir, a very interesting discussion with David Frum, Weekend adventures with friends, new friends, old friends, lunches, dinners, gardening adventures – finding a cantaloupe that I never planted – it came up through the compost! And then there’s the tomatoes…

And this month, I’ll be volunteering at the County FM Radio tent at the Picton Fair on Sunday, September 8th, and then on the 13th, it’s Royal Wood at Base31, and on the 14th, I’ll be tasting and sipping and enjoying the music of Secret Beach featuring Justin Rutledge, Annelise Noronha, Jeremy Kelly, Ben Vandergaast, Kevin Howley and Jim Hardy at Parsons Brewery. But, there’s more music of the classical sort on offer through the PEC Chamber Music Festival as well as the annual  Studio tour featuring many artists from across the county.

And because it’s September, it’s the beginning of the theatrical season, and we are so looking forward to seeing the one-woman show of the Year of Magical Thinking based on the Joan Didion book, and then there’s CAFF – the County Adaptation Film Festival.  I have to confess that I’ve been part of the team bringing the festival to the County so the countdown is on. It’s very exciting – with films, conversations, and different events across the county. Read on for details. And then there’s cheese.
